The one where we buy a house.

The one where we buy a house.

If you’d asked me 4 years ago what my hopes were for 2014, I never would have guessed that my plans would be to start a serious relationship, contemplate selling the home I’d only purchased the year before, or guessed that I’d ever consider moving back to New York. Well, I guess life’s funny like that – it almost never works out how you’d expect and it truly is full of surprises. Especially when you get an opportunity to purchase a house at your rehearsal dinner.

Fast forward to 2018. In the last week, I’ve become a homeowner again, and it’s a bit of a fixer upper to say the least. With friends and family scattered across the US, and I thought this blog would be the easiest way to share our progress on this (HUGE) project with you.

Here’s a little back story on the house. It was built in 1903, and it was originally the caretaker’s house for the JP Morgan estate along the Hudson River. It’s had a few owners since then, but over the last 20-some years, it’s primarily been a rental property and is greatly in need of some love and TLC.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy what are sure to be my disasters, lessons, and laughs. I’m so glad to have you on this journey with me.
