Let it Goooooo.

Let it Goooooo.

So since we had an unexpected #demoday, and we determined that some of the cabinets were in worse shape than expected off of the walls, Jordan and I decided it was time to embrace my favorite Frozen line and ‘let it go.’ After checking out the cabinet selection at my two favorite hangouts, Home Depot and Lowe’s, as well as quite a few online cabinet retailers, I was completely frustrated with the hunt for a white shaker cabinet. While replacing cabinets wasn’t a part of the plan, I knew that I didn’t want to compromise on my most-used room in the house.

My online shopping led me to have Costco and Just Cabinets as my top choices, but both of these retailers had a 2+ week wait for cabinets to even ship, and we were quickly running out of time to get the kitchen renovation done. I found out that there was a local hardware store that carried one of the cabinet lines that I was interested in, and our favorite floor guy recommended them, so we spoke to Kathy at Beckerle Lumber. She was able to work up an awesome kitchen design at a price that was in line with the online estimates that I’d received. Local New Yorkers – definitely check out Beckerle for any kitchen/cabinet/counter/vanity needs! They have an awesome showroom in Haverstraw and are willing to work with you to make sure you get exactly what you are looking for within your price range.

Here’s the line we ended up going with:

I wanted something that was simple and clean looking – I don’t want to replace cabinets for a VERY LONG TIME, so I wanted to ensure that the cabinets would go with any kitchen decor. I think that these cabinets will work well. Most importantly, the cabinets are made of solid wood (maple). We didn’t want any junky particle board/pressed wood components, and I’m excited about the soft close doors and drawers – it’s really the little things these days 🙂

Beckerle was able to order the cabinets and have them delivered for us within 4 days, so that was a huge plus! Hanging them – now that’s a whole different story.

T minus 11 days until we move in!
